Useful Information on Accounting Standards in China
The Asian Corporate Governance Association has placed on its web site materials from a Deloitte presentation on accounting in China. Clara Yu of Deloitte Hong Kong gave the presentation on September 27 at a member briefing.
The presentation covered the history of the current accounting standards in China. No new standards have been issued since 2001, although guidance has come from other sources such as the MoF.
The presentation also addressed key changes to PRC accounting in the past several years, and went on to compare the IFRS to standards in China. Resources that could be of use include the IASB's web site and Deloitte's IFRS web site.
