Compliance with the FCPA in China
In an article this week, CFO magazine examines the difficulties U.S. companies have in complying with the FCPA in China. One of the primary problems lies in determining whether family members of government officials are themselves considered to be officials to whom certain entertainment or payments might be considered bribes. The article notes that there have been only 4 convictions since the FCPA was enacted in 1977.

Thank you for the important post. Not only must one be aware of the FCPA in China, but China has its own laws and the excuse that "everyone does it" is no more of a defense there than anywhere else.
