China's New Securities Laws

China substantially revised its securities laws last year and those revisions were effective on January 1. The changes define the term "public offering," expand the definition of "security" to include bonds and other instruments, change the process of listing on stock exchanges, provide enhanced protections for small shareholders and expand director liability.
