Business Roundtable Issues Corporate Governance Survey

The Business Roundtable just released its fourth annual corporate governance survey, which was taken by 105 of its 160 members. Companies reported stabilization in SOX compliance costs, with costs at most companies expected to remain the same or decrease in 2006. More companies are using pay-for-performance, have increased director independence, have established shareholder communications processes, hired compensation consultants, used executive sessions of non-management directors, established director qualifications, increased number or length of committee meetings and established stock ownership requirements for senior executives.
