Publication on Canadian M&A Work

Stikeman Elliott has published a guide to M&A work in Canada. Although M&A agreements in Canada may appear similar to those in the U.S., there are significant differences. For example, Canada does not recognize the concept of "at will employment," there are significant tax differences depending on the structure of the transaction, and the issuance of securities is regulated by the provinces.
